Unattended Cremation
When a funeral service is not required we can offer TWO OPTIONS for an unattended funeral with our same care and dignity to a specification as follows:
OPTION 1 –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
• Meeting with you at our office during normal hours to discuss arrangements and complete statutory forms. This can be done by telephone or email and post if preferred.
• Transfer of the deceased from a local address during normal office hours to our premises with up to 15 running miles* allowed and care of the deceased until the funeral.
*Over 15 miles, add £1 per mile.
• Provision of a simple coffin and gown.
• Conveyance of the deceased in a closed vehicle to our partner crematorium on a date and time chosen by us.
• Return of the ashes to you in a temporary container (collected from our
office or delivered locally).
Including the following third-party payments on your behalf:
• Crematorium fee for an unattended committal.
• Doctor’s fee for the statutory medical certificate. (not required if the coroner issues form 6 for cremation).
The cost of this Unattended Funeral is £1,095
OPTION 2 –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
• As above but with the cremation taking place at Pentrebychan Crematorium on a day of which you are advised.
• Conveyance in a traditional hearse with bearers in attendance.
• Scattering of the ashes at the crematorium if preferred. (There is an
additional charge of £47 made by the crematorium if this is to be witnessed)
• The option to view the deceased during office hours, including embalming and dressing in their own clothes, for an additional £185
The cost of this Unattended Funeral is £1,370
PLEASE NOTE. If we are asked to bring the deceased into our care outside of usual office hours (Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm excluding Bank Holidays), an additional charge of £80 will be added.
Payment for these options is required IN FULL prior to the funeral taking place.
